Neale Donald Walsch

I never doubted that Neale Donald Walsch actually had those conversation with God. Or him being a trustworthy messenger. Because of his grey hair and beard, maybe. Although I much rather believe it’s that light coming from his soul, pouring out through his eyes  over the entire mankind.

I took my first step on my spiritual journey the moment I was born, as all of you did, without realising, of course. And for many years I believed that life was happening to me despite some victories that clearly stated I was creating my life in the process of living. Because every time a wish was whispered by my heart, it was becoming real. And when everything seemed lost, a safety net appeared out of the blue, preventing me to hit the rock bottom.

Allan Kardec’s “Spirits’ Book” was the first spiritual work I read. A friend gave it to me in my early twenties. I read it, enjoyed but looked no further. After several years, when I decided that spirituality was the only way for me to find out who I was and what was my life ‘s purpose, I turned to spiritual literature. And Neale Donald  Walsch’ s “Conversations with God” fell into may hands. As much as I was captivated with the books, I was also captivated with its author. His life was proof enough that it was never too late to find and follow your own path, to wake up and create the life you were meant to live from the very beginning.

Before writing the Conversations With God series, Walsch worked variously as a radio station program director, newspaper managing editor, and in marketing and public relations. In the early 1990s he suffered a series of crushing blows—a fire that destroyed all of his belongings, the break-up of his marriage, and a car accident that left him with a broken neck. Once recovered, but alone and unemployed, he was forced to live in a tent in Jackson Hot Springs, just outside Ashland, Oregon, collecting and recycling aluminium cans in order to eat. At the time, he thought his life had come to an end. Despondent, he began his writings after working his way out of homelessness and following a stint as a radio talk show host.

His first book, Conversations with God, was published in 1995 and became an international bestseller. It remained on the New York Times Bestseller List for 135 weeks. Six of his other books have made the Times list in the years since. He has published 28 books and his works have been translated into 37 languages. (source: Wikipedia)

This would be a really long post if I were to quote all Neale’s memorable words. Through his wisdom, same as artists did for centuries, Neale inspires us to see the beauty within us and our grandeur, it shows us our right to happiness and abundance. And equally important (and challenging for those who believe in dogma), speaks about a loving God whom we can reach anytime in our soul. Therefore, I am very happy and I want to share the news with you: Neale Donald Walsch is coming to Romania for a special conference he will held in Bucharest on the  21st of May, at Crystal Palace Ballroom. You can find more details on the event website. As for me, I can’t wait to find out what Neale has to say to us, the Romanians. In the meantime, I will remember what he says:

The first step to a happy and successful life is to be in harmony in yourself.

Even though to be in harmony with yourself, you may need to get out of your comfort zone. Cause that’s when you stop  making a living and start making a life.
